FAQs
How do I choose the appropriate suture size?
We recommend selecting the thinnest suture that matches the natural strength of the tissue being sutured. Thinner sutures minimize tissue damage and reduce the risk of scarring. Thicker sutures, while stronger, are more likely to loosen, and thinner ones promote better tissue healing with less fibrosis.
What is the difference between monofilament and braided sutures?
Monofilament sutures pass through tissue more smoothly, reducing tissue trauma and the chance of infection. Braided sutures, on the other hand, provide better handling, flexibility, and knot security, which can be beneficial in certain procedures requiring stronger tension.
How should I choose the right needle and suture for different types of tissue?
Triangular needles are ideal for tougher tissues like fascia and skin, while round-bodied needles are better suited for more delicate tissues such as internal organs, liver, fat, and muscle.
What’s the difference between 420 stainless steel and 302 stainless steel for suture needles?
Suture needles made from 420 stainless steel offer a sharper tip and smoother surface, making them highly durable and easier to pass through tissues. On the other hand, 302 stainless steel needles have greater flexibility and toughness, reducing the risk of breaking during procedures while maintaining their rigidity and elasticity.
Why choose our absorbable collagen sutures?
Our collagen sutures are made from the innermost mucosa of healthy goat intestines, carefully processed to ensure quality. These sutures have received EU Class III certification, attesting to their high standard for medical use.
How should sutures be stored?
Sutures should be stored in clean, designated areas under the supervision of trained personnel. They must be kept in a controlled environment as specified in the Instructions for Use (IFU), ensuring that room temperature does not exceed 30°C.
What are your specialized and new products?
We specialize in both absorbable and non-absorbable sutures, as well as polypropylene meshes and bone wax. Our product range also includes new items such as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) sutures, antimicrobial sutures, barbed sutures, cervical cerclage bands, and Polyglactin 910 sutures.
Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ) for sutures? What is the typical lead time?
For international clients, the minimum order is 1200 units. Depending on our stock availability, orders can be adjusted. The standard lead time is within 45 working days after order confirmation. For domestic clients, we maintain sufficient stock of popular items and can ship immediately after receiving the order.
How long does it take for surgical sutures to dissolve?
How long does it take for surgical sutures to dissolve? The absorption time varies depending on the type of suture used. You can find detailed information in our product catalog or on our product page.
Are your sutures suitable for veterinary use?
Yes, we offer a complete range of surgical sutures specifically designed for veterinary applications. More information about our sutures for veterinary surgery can be found in our product catalog.
Which suture should be used for fascia closure?
The choice of suture for fascia closure depends on the surgeon’s judgment, based on the type of injury or surgical procedure. Typically, stronger sutures are selected for areas requiring extra support during healing.
What sutures are recommended for skin closure?
Nylon and silk sutures are commonly used for skin closure. Recently, absorbable sutures such as Polycaprone have become popular for skin closure, especially when cosmetic results are important, as they minimize scarring.
What is the difference between absorbable and non-absorbable sutures?
Absorbable sutures are designed to be broken down by the body over time, either through enzymatic action or hydrolysis, depending on the material. Non-absorbable sutures, however, are not absorbed by the body and need to be removed or are left in place based on the nature of the surgery.
